Centurion cardmembers' most requested hotels, restaurants, and more
Recommendations from the travel and lifestyle experts at Centurion Concierge.
Some of the Thai capital's best spas are found far from the big hotels and well-travelled roadways, and so far, they are very much a local secret.
Avoiding the high-priced hotels, expatriates and the beau monde in Bangkok frequent places like the royally-inspired Divana, which features fine wooden detailing, handmade tile-lined showers, and a long roster of scrubs, facials, oil, and acupressure-inspired treatments in a pan-Asian style. Moderately priced, Ruen Nuad is a no-frills spot housed in a charming, 200-year-old home off of Convent Road. It is low-key but stylish, with spare, white walls, wooden floors, and highly trained therapists who offer Thai-style massage and reflexology—a great stop-in place after a day of sightseeing.

In the hip enclave of Thong Lo, the Sareerarom Spa offers everything from vinyasa style yoga and tea ceremonies to day long wraps, Indonesian rubs, and treatments incorporating Thai herbs and spices in a very serene setting with temple inspired pavilions and interior gardens. Finally, for those who wish to combine the spa experience with a bit of shopping, there is Thann Sanctuary, the very handsome day spa inside the Siam Discovery Centre recently opened by the group behind product specialists Harnn and Thann. With dark, black and copper toned rooms and a spa menu that features products made from lemongrass, rice bran, ginger, and other local ingredients, Thann Sanctuary provides just what its name would imply.
