People from all over travel to this sleepy town in the northern end of Napa Valley to sit in mud, soak in hot mineral water, and then nap it off.
With the Mudslide, Spa Solage at Solage Calistoga brings a contemporary sensibility and tasteful minimalism to this local custom. It starts with a mud blend of clay, ash, and essential oils mixed to order, which is applied in a heated “mud lounge” that looks like a sleekly tiled Turkish bath. Then there’s a heated shower outside on a private deck, and a lingering soak in an oversized porcelain tub filled with geo-thermal water from Solage Calistoga’s own natural spring. This one-of-a-kind treatment concludes with a restful sleep in a sound-vibration chair—the ultimate “power nap.”
The treatment is a local tradition. Spa Solage at Solage Calistoga makes it modern.
