The patio at Solbar, the Michelin-starred restaurant at Solage Calistoga, has always been the place to sip a cocktail on an autumn afternoon. It recently became even more intriguing with the arrival of lead bartender Michael Pazdon.

Pazdon, a recent winner of the prestigious Golden Barspoon Award, has created a cocktail program that changes seasonally and dovetails with chef Brandon Sharp's menu. The star bartender flavors his concoctions with fresh fruits, herbs from Solbar's on-site garden, and syrups, tinctures, and liqueurs that he crafts himself. This season, you'll want to try his signature Jack Clove—a refreshing mix of lemon juice, applejack, tincture of clove, and house-made grenadine—and sip it by the new pool bar at the resort.
